Heavy shelling by the enemy all along the front. Attack at Vierstraat hundreds of various coloured lights (flares) go up.
Walked through & out of Ypres at 11 PM with Pt Fetherstone of 49th orderly to MacNeill, arrive at A camp near Busseboom.

Very heavy shelling by enemy at different times during the day.
Have a very busy day making maps, tracings etc for division etc.
St Pierre Church is now almost a complete wreck thro’ enemy shells.
Heavy rain at night as my Regiment enter trenches.

Working very hard all day.
Frightful bombardment by us and the enemy. Our operations are a success, – Bombing attack etc.- Tis’ Sunday! Attack dies down midnight (from 8:30 PM)

Enemy shelling barracks, & etc. Finish sketch.
Enemy shell heavily at night.
Our whole Battn is stationed in Ypres.
