Wednesday 18 July 1917

@ 8 am going to business where Mrs. Draycot is. After chat I to see solicitor Bigg at 15 Friars Lane.  Not there.  Go to Police Court where he is.  I call him from the court & talk with him in passing re my bro Chester Draycot.  Ask him to send telegram to O.C.  Hosp. Ramsgate.  Leave 5/- with Officer [Boyton Telg.].  To see Miss Southam at 11 am.  AT 12:30 to Wilson Restaurant for cup of café with Daisy.

To dinner @ 1 pm with Daisy & Elsie. Back to see Mrs. Draycot.  Say goodbye & take train to Liverpool 2:42 pm.  Arrive L’pool after change @ Manchester.

Call at Uptons, all @ home. To Harry’s at 10:30 pm.  He just arrives home from Hospl.

Left Ramsgate 1:45 train for Leicester arriving @7:45 pm (London 5:40). Stayed @ YMCA for night.  Met Daisy & Elsie.

* Proclamation issued changing name of British Royal House to Windsor.
