To Harry’s We take a walk around the American camp. English girls twitter around the camp forgetting their own poor Tommy in France.

As a Sergt. I am allowed to wear my Khaki & not Blues.
Take a run up to Harry’s from 3 to 8 pm.
* Convalescent Blues: the distinctive blue uniform that military authorities required recovering soldiers of the Great War to wear in hospital and in public. Made of a flannel and flannelette combination the uniform resembled ill-fitting pyjamas.

Say goodbye to Dr. & Mrs. Miller & travel by the 10 past 5 pm train. Dr. Miller sees me off on the platform.
Harry meets me @ Lime Street Liverpool & we walk home together.
I go to No. 5 Canadian Military Hospital for admission & they take me in.
Thursday 30 May 1918
Dr. M. forbids me to travel ‘till tomorrow. I send a wire to Lee & receive reply “Enter Hospital. [Query no.] writing.”
Wednesday 29 May 1918
To Rowley Park to see Blackshaw’s with Mrs. & Dr. Miller. I stay till 10 pm.
I receive wire from Hdqts. To “Enter Hospital without delay”.
Tuesday 28 May 1918
– hot
Dr. M. and I go out to Endon for a days rabbit & —– shooting. Get many rabbits.
Lovely weather. Hot.
Monday 27 May 1918
To St. Thomas’s Priory and on to Whitgreave, Hyde Lea and Rowley Park.
To Wm. Salt Library in afternoon.
Sunday 26 May 1918
For a walk with Dr. Miller taking the dogs out for a run. The dogs get two ducks.
Saturday 25 May 1918
To Worston Hall near Great Bridgeford & Whitgreaves with Dr. M. to see the Fernihough’s.

Friday 24 May 1918
With Doctor in auto to Hyde Lea, Seighford, Whitgreave, St. Thomas’s Priory.
In afternoon I go to Marston & Enson in auto for rabbit shooting alone. I bag 6. Return home at 10:30 pm tired.
