In evening to see Mrs. Cross of Egham. Walked back (3 m) with Mrs. Beamish of the Orchard Guild Society.

I leave L’pool on 9.40 am train for Egham. Stop off @ Stafford & see Dr. Miller. Entrain again @ 4.20 pm & arr Egham @ 12 midnight.

At Stafford I called on Mr. & Mrs. Rushton, Fruiterers. They were born @ Draycot.

I receive orders to get my Khaki as I am to be sent back to my depot tomorrow.

It rains all day. I go to Harry’s. Much surprised at the news.

I write to Dr. Miller & Lee.

Dr. Burns states he will see the Col. re my case.

I to Harry’s in afternoon. Harry photographing.

Quiet @ Harry’s without Charles.

Bro. Charles & I go to Mrs. Brighton’s in afternoon & return to Harry’s @ 5 pm. We part at 8 pm as I leave for hospital and Charles goes back at 10 pm Lime St. for Sunderland much depressed.

Charles & I go for walk. He accompanies me to the Hospital. Looks ill.

I go to S. G. Upton’s in evening. All well. I take Charles with me.

Charles my bro. home on leave for 4 days yesterday. We go for a walk.

To Library (Picton reading room) at 2 pm.

To Harry’s @ 4.30

To Upton’s @ 5.30. Jack is still in France.

Brother Charles is home on 4 days leave from Sunderland.
