Packing up ready to go to Shorncliffe to rejoin my regiment. I leave Portsmouth Harbour at 12:05 noon. Arrive at Waterloo at 2:25. Left [G.E. and C. Ry] at 3:30 and arrive at Shorncliffe at 4:50. Walked two miles to Barracks. Had no sleep at night. Lots of talk and a fight. Sent postcards to Ernest.
Wednesday 17 March 1915 – fine
Up at 8 am and left at 9 am.
Left Portsmouth Harbour at 9:25 am.
Arrived in London at 12 noon, took the inner Circle Tube to Kings Cross station.
Left St. Pancras at 2:05 pm for Kettering. Arrive in Kettering at 4:30 pm to Mr and Mrs Mayes for tea at night. Mr Mayes and self go to see a Mr Draycot who hails from Leicestershire.
