Doctor & I go to Seighford. Visit the church which is very interesting. Monument to the Eld & Boyer or Bowyer families. Stop & see Seighford Hall, an old Elizabethan building.
*Seighford Hall is said to have been given to Richard Eld by Queen Elizabeth I as a reward for his services as paymaster to the Royal forces in Ulster. Elizabeth’s coat of arms is over one of the fireplaces in the Hall.

To Wm. Salt library in afternoon.
*Syncope: Partial or complete loss of consciousness with interruption of awareness of oneself and ones surroundings. When the loss of consciousness is temporary and there is spontaneous recovery, it is referred to as syncope or, in nonmedical quarters, fainting.
*The core of the Salt Library is the huge collection of printed books, pamphlets, manuscripts, drawings, watercolours, and transcripts built up by William Salt| (1808-1863), a London banker during his lifetime. The Library’s collections represent an outstanding resource for the study of local and family history in Staffordshire.
